The surface area of 9.500 m2 is spread over 5 levels : 3 floors offering free access to collections (books, periodicals, theses, multimedia and e-resources) and 2 floors of stacks and offices.

The library replaced the former “Law and Arts Library” created in the XIXth century. The stacks thus maintain significant old collections in humanities : literature, history, philosophy, history of arts, ... Quite unusual among French universities libraries : the Bibliothèque universitaire de l’Arsenal also owns an exceptional collection of 50,000 ancient or rare books (before 1800).
